You don’t want someone that’s going to be sweet to you. You want someone that looks good. You don’t want someone that’s going to stay on the phone with you at night. You want someone to get the bed rocking late past twelve. You don’t want someone that’s going to risk it all for you. You don’t want someone that’s going to treat you with respect. You don’t really want to be in love. You’re just in it for the lust.
The thing is, the sentence only lives up to its words as long as there is actually someone there to begin with. You can’t be there for someone that’s pushed you too far off. It’s the sad truth.
Brings the past to thought. You think of the good and the bad. Thoughts of why you had feelings for them, or what made them attractive, come to mind, along with comparisons, how they are now, compared to how they were before. You find yourself wishing, perhaps, that you had a crush on them now…
